25 boots for fall

Whether flat, heeled, suede, furry, ankle or knee-high, the boot is a wardrobe staple for any season, but with autumn's crisp mornings and noticeably-milder temperature, it's time to pack away the sandals and opt for something a little bit warmer.

Nail that cold-weather style this fall with some cosy-but-super-chic boots...

Autumn/fall wishlist

Autumn is easily my favourite season.

Fresh mornings, falling leaves, cinnamon candles, cosy jumpers, ankle boots, berry lips, bonfires, pumpkin lattes and the run-up to Christmas definitely make my world go round.

But until then why not treat yourself to some top summer sales picks so at least when summer does arrive, your wardrobe will be ready ;-)

My birthday

Another year older, another year wiser... so they say!

Last Saturday (June 4) was my birthday and I spent the weekend celebrating with friends and family, and having a fabulous time.

My mum, sister and best friend travelled to Nottingham for the day, and then us girls headed out in the evening to party hard before catching a train back the following morning feeling slightly worse for wear.

I spent a few days chilling back in Northampton, enjoying the sunny weather, eating lots of yummy food and catching up with my dad which was lovely.

Now it's back to reality and the depressing realisation that I'm a whole year older (boo hoo!) but I'm aiming to make the most of the next 12 months and instead celebrate the fact I've lived for another year!

Hello June

Guess who's back...

After living like a hermit for the past few weeks while completing a huge heap of uni assessments, I can confirm I am finally free!
:-D

I honestly don't know where the last 8 months have gone.
It seems like just yesterday I was experiencing my first taste of student life, and now I'm about to go into my third year! Madness.

But before then I have summer to look forward to - and despite the fact a lot of it will be spent working - I'm determined to make the most of it before the scary prospect of returning for my final year. Eek.

June is set to be an exciting month... with my birthday right at the start, followed by a trip home, and then back again for a work placement... It's gonna be a busy one! :-)

But for now, here's a lil' snapshot of the last month...

Hello May

And just like that we're into the fifth month of the year!

Although judging by the weather you'd be forgiven for thinking we are still in the midst of Winter. Warm coat, check. Heating on, check.

Despite the month zooming by it's been a busy one.

With Nottingham Fashion Week, a few nights out and one or two spontaneous purchases, my bank balance is looking a little sorry. Oops.

Uni is now back in full swing post-Easter and with it have come a ton of deadlines that need to be hit before the start of June.

It's safe to say I'm going to become a hermit for the next few weeks or so until everything I need to do is done :-(

Don't miss me too much guys, I'll be back with you soon!

Have a great month.

Holly xx

Spring wardrobe detox

It’s that time of year when the days get lighter, the temperature warmer and floral/nude shades make an appearance on the high-street once again.

Now is the perfect time to declutter, spring clean and start the new season fresh – and where better place to start than with your wardrobe?

Here’s some tips on what to do with those winter woolly jumpers and thick tights, and a few fresh spring styles to replace them with.

1. Declutter

-First up you need to make space. Set aside a few hours to go through your wardrobe and remove any clothes which won't be required in warmer weather, e.g: thick jumpers, big coats, thermals, etc, etc...

2. Storage vs donate

-Now the tricky part: to keep or not to keep? Is the item an investment piece/timeless classic/still wearable next winter? If the answer is no then get rid! The aim is to declutter so anything that no longer serves you should be donated to charity or gifted to a lucky friend.

3. Replace

-Let the fun begin! Hopefully you've cleared plenty of space in your closet so now you can rediscover last season's stored favourites and of course... hit the high-street for a few new things to reward your hard work.
