What’s in my handbag?

I’m not sure about you but I love reading these posts. I like being nosey and seeing what other girls carry around with them in their handbags. I tend to carry everything but the kitchen sink which is one reason why I love big handbags but if I am going on a night out I use a smaller clutch and only carry the essentials.

My current day time bag is one of my favourites and is from Zara. It’s a great size for me as I tend to just chuck items in when I’m on the go and this bag has room for everything. I love the nude colour as it goes with any outfit and is simple and chic.

Things I always carry with me are my i Phone, purse, make-up bag, lipgloss/lipstick and a mirror. I pretty much always carry make-up essentials with me for touch ups and a brush/comb and hairspray to fix my hair on the go. I always have a book or magazine with me because I love to read and also headphones and an MP3 player to listen to at the gym.

Essentials:
Mini hairspray – L’oreal Elnett

Lip gloss – Dior

Make-up bag - DKNY
Purse – Marc Jacobs
i Phone case - ASOS

Other bits and bobs that you may find floating around are an umbrella (you can never predict the great British weather), dry shampoo, perfume/spray, hand cream and chewing gum.

What are your handbag staples? Is there anything you just cannot be without?

Birthday Wishlist

I hope I get a nice birthday cake like my sister did!

It is officially 2 weeks today until my 22nd birthday eek! As much as I am excited for my birthday it’s not a major deal this year compared to last year when I was turning 21. I still can’t get my head around the fact that I have lived for twenty two whole years – it just seems so surreal! I don’t have any big plans for my birthday this year, I have the day and the day after booked off of work naturally - I have never, ever worked on my birthday and I don’t plan to as long as I can help it. In my opinion your birthday is your day and even if you spend it at home alone, chillin’, watching movies and eating chocolate (possibly how my day will be spent) then so be it because it’s your day and it should be spent doing exactly what you want and not working!

My birthday falls on a Tuesday which is kind of rubbish as normally I am lucky and it falls on a Friday or Saturday so I can actually party on the day, but this year I am planning to go to Birmingham for a night out with a few of the girls the weekend after. I love Birmingham it has some great clubs, shops, restaurants and the people are so friendly – I have never had a bad night out there!

Any how the best thing about your birthday (apart from the cake) are the presents! As you get older most people give you money and vouchers which is great as you can buy what you want, but I still love having things to open! My favourite kind of presents are the cute little surprises that are things you love but wouldn’t normally buy for yourself, so I have compiled a list of gifts that I would love to un wrap on my day!

What is the best present you have ever received on your birthday? What will you be asking for this year?

If I had a spare £1341…

I would definitely be buying these amazing DSquared2 Shoe boots!! How chic are they?! I can’t decide which colour I like more – the black and silver would look amaze with a little black dress, but I can see the silver and gold with a white playsuit and blazer combo… Totally lusting over these shoes right now.
What do you think?

Stylight

The other day I discovered this amazing website www.stylight.co.uk. I got butterflies in my stomach as I was scrolling through pages of amazing designer and high street collections and lusting after the gorgeous clothes, shoes and accessories. The site displays a wide range of well and less known brands and I definitely recommend checking it out if you are an online shopaholic like myself - but be warned you may want to set aside plenty of time and ensure you have a healthy bank balance because I can guarantee you will be tempted!

Throwback Thursday

It’s almost June 4th – also known as MY BIRTHDAY!!! This year I will be 22 and I cannot believe how fast the last year has gone! It feels like only yesterday when my friends and I were celebrating in my back garden on a beautiful, warm summer evening before heading out on the town to party the night away. It was such a great birthday! I love looking back through the pictures and remembering the fun we had, I hope that this birthday is just as good.

Beauty Buys of the Week

This week I took advantage of Superdrug’s Free Delivery offer and ordered a couple of bits online. I was curious to try the new MUA nail polishes that look very similar to Essie polishes and also needed some new eye liner and eye shadow. As you can tell by the mini-haul I have been on my best behaviour when spending money as I am trying to live on a budget so I was proud when I resisted the temptation of buying more products!

I have 2 other eye palettes from MUA - Undressed and Undress me too, and I think the quality is excellent for the very reasonable price. All products that I have tried from the cosmetic brand have been impressive and I think they have come a long way since they first appeared in Superdrug stores – especially with the appearance and new packaging. The best thing about the brand is the bargain prices but I also like the similarity to high end brands such as Urban Decay with the eye palettes and now Essie with the nail polishes.

I was tempted to buy all of the nail polishes as they are only £1 but decided I would stop at just one for now to test the quality before buying more. The texture of the polish is great and after 2 coats nails are well covered and not streaky. The colour really is lush and looks very vibrant - it also dries quickly which is always good in my books. The clear top coat gives a gorgeous shine and will hopefully prevent chipping which is one of my pet hates when I paint my nails! I will definitely be investing in some more MUA colours to add to my nail polish collection.

I spotted the Felt eye liner and thought I’d add it to my bag – after all it is just £2. I am hoping to create 60’s-style-cat-eye-liner flicks when I next apply my full face of make-up so hopefully this pen will impress and will also work well with the new Dusk til Dawn eye shadows. I decided to try the Accesorize liquid eye liner - I usually use a Collection 2000 liquid eye liner but fancied a change. I have never tried any make-up from this brand before so I am curious to see how I get on!
Have you tried any of these products? What did you think?

Best Friend Birthday Gift Ideas

My Best friend Helen and I

It’s my best friends 22nd birthday in 1 week and stupidly I have left it until the last minute to buy her a present. Like me whenever there is anything that she wants she will buy it herself which makes buying for her hard as she already has everything! When I asked her for some gift ideas the response I got was something like ‘Ummm, I don’t know really, I can’t think of anything… surprise me!’
As much as I love shopping and gift buying for other people it is quite a hard task when you only have 1 week! I have been frantically searching the web today and here’s some of the options I have added to my maybe list so far…
Do you have any gift ideas for a 22 year old girl? Any suggestions welcome!

Wishing for this week

How beautiful is the new Estee Lauder Five Colour Eye Shadow palette?! The sleek, gold palette is an example of pure luxe beauty and the colours are so pretty and summery. The five shadows are a mixture of matte, shimmer and metallic textures and are designed to blend together to accentuate and highlight eyes. My favourite shades are the peach and turquoise – don’t they just scream tropical beach holiday? The palette is available for a limited time only for £35. Anyone fancy treating me?

Day-time Chic

I like to keep my day-time look simple. In my opinion neutral colours and minimal designs create a chic yet sophisticated look. Here’s some day-time inspired items I am lusting after this week… P.S MAJORLY loving the Reiss tote!
