Miniature goodies from the Body Shop

The Body Shop is a beauty brand that never fail to disappoint, from their thick body butters and fragrant shower gels to their delicious Christmas limited edition ranges and eco-friendly, natural skin care - I can never leave the store empty handed! It doesn’t help that they always seem to have such great deals and offers on either.

When I was in store the other day I decided to pick up a few of their miniature bits which are 3 for 2. Miniatures always come in handy and are a great way of trying new products without having to buy the full-sized product first.

I opted for the Vitamin E cream cleanser which is gentle and great for sensitive skin, it smells lovely and fresh and leaves skin feeling really clean and soft. The Shea Body Butter, Coconut shower cream and Coconut Body Scrub are all products that I have used before and love – who can resist the delicious scent of coconut? All three moisturise and leave the body super soft and smelling good enough to eat! Lastly I chose the new Plum Lip Balm which not only makes lips kissably soft, it also has a nice berry tint so you can wear it with your normal daytime make-up.

All of these products cost around £3-£5 each but are available 3 for 2, what better excuse do you need to give yourself a little treat?

Have you tried any of these? What other Body Shop products do you like?

Fashion Week Off Duty: Get the look

Fashion season is currently upon us, New York Fashion Week has been and gone, then it was London and next we’re heading to the beautiful city of Milan before the grande fashion week finale in Paris.

There’s so much I love about fashion week. Besides spending an unhealthy amount of time pouring over the stunning catwalk pictures and ogling the latest designer collections while spotting my favourite A-listers on the FROW, I also enjoy reading all of the backstage gossip, beauty tips and about those wild after parties.

However, the thing I love the most is looking through the endless street style and model-off-duty pics, spotting which looks I like the best to incorporate in to my own wardrobe. How do they manage to look so effortlessly chic and cool despite surviving on a minimal amount of sleep and being subjected to the freezing temperatures of London and New York? It’s a mystery!

Here’s some of my favourite looks from the Fashion-Week-Fashionistas, and although these ladies may have designer wardrobes that cost the equivalent of a small house, I’ve found some super chic pieces with a more high-street friendly budget.

One thing’s for sure, ripped skinny jeans, oversized coats and black boots are definitely at the top of the Fashion Week wardrobe check list!

H&M Lip Crayon

If you are a follower of the blog you will already know that I love a good lip product. It was only recently that I attempted to clear out my never-ending stash of lip sticks/glosses/crayons/balms as I was running out of space for them all, and of course getting rid of the old means there is room for some new ;-)

I saw this lush lip crayon when I was in H&M the other day, and decided that for £2.99 it would make a nice, addition to my make-up collection.

I have tried the H&M cosmetic range before and actually already have one of their lip crayons in a coral colour. I would describe the quality of their products as excellent for the budget price and they offer some good dupes of similar products from other brands.

I like the colour of this crayon which is a deep plum/berry colour. It glides well on to lips and is nicely moisturising, has good staying power, and leaves a sleek, glossy finish.

I would definitely recommend the H&M crayons as an alternative to the Bourjois/Rimmel/Revlon ones as they are half the price and in my opinion the quality is just as good. They also do four other lovely colours – check them out here.

Have you tried the H&M lip crayons or any of their other beauty products?

January

Is it just me or has January been one long month? Although it doesn’t feel like Christmas was five minutes ago the last four weeks still seem to have taken forever, or perhaps I have just packed a lot into one month?

Anyhow I’ve been keeping busy, mainly attending University interviews which has included trips to Leicester, Nottingham and Kent. However all of the stress paid off as I received an offer from my number one University choice which is Nottingham Trent woohoo!!!

I’ve been trying my hardest to fight the January blues and undo the damage done from the Christmas indulgences, but I think you will agree that this is a hard task when there is still so much chocolate and food left over and the cold, wet weather outside is less than motivating!

Despite being poor like the majority of people in January I treated myself to a couple of bits to keep spirits high. I absolutely love my new Fiorelli Kenzie tote handbag and Nike Free Run 5.0 trainers which have kept me motivated in the gym.

Looking to the month ahead I don’t have too much planned, just a lonely Valentine’s day consisting of a night in front of the TV and a meal for one *sob* - Just kidding! :-P
What have you been up to this month? Anything exciting planned for the month ahead?
